On arrival to the airport or bus station in Bangkok, you will be met by our tour guide and transferred to Hua Lamphong, Bangkok’s main railway station. We’ll start the trip by rail to KhaoYai National Park. On arrival to KhaoYai, you’ll check-in a traditional bungalow at the Lilawalai Resort.The afternoon tour starts around 3:00pm.You will be transferred by a private driver to a natural water spring, at Ban Tha Chang fountain. The drive through the countryside and occasional tops at outdoor village markets and/or roadside stands to buy seasonal fruits directly from villagers and local producers is quite enjoyable. You certainly will appreciate the atmosphere in local markets--you will meet jovial people with smiles on their faces even though they may have had a hard day in the fields. You may also be happy to participate, even if on a small scale, with the economy of the villages by buying local fruits and other products. Then we’ll visit “The Bat Cave” at mountain basement. From there on foot we’ll go to the nearby fields, you’ll see tapioca, corn, vegetable and rice plantation, etc. You will have the opportunity to observe the labor completed without many modern devices--it is done rather with traditional tools, sweat and determination.

At about 5:30pm, we’ll walk back to the Bat Cave, there to witness an amazing natural phenomenon. Just before sunset, the bats begin emerging from the cave, singly at first, then in small groups, ultimately by the thousands. It is quite impressive sight and you’ll be glad to know the bats aren’t at all interested in you or your blood! They seek out small flying insects and help keep the populations of mosquitoes in check.

Time now to return to your bungalow resort, for a very special and very healthy dinner.

You will be invited to pick the vegetables you chose directly from the organic garden of the resort, wash them and cook them by yourself with the help and instructions of the Chef, who will gladly offer you instruction in the preparation of Royal Thai cuisine. You’ll cook and eat your own Thai food, an activity most find very enjoyable and rewarding.

After breakfast, you will depart the Resort at 08:00. For Khao Yai National Park. There, you’ll be warmly welcomed by a fantastic English-speaking tour guide, who will lead us on a 3 to 4 kilometer trek through the rain forest, and over fields of grasses and flowers. You will discover and observe nature, trees, flowers, birds, small animals and insects. You will also gain knowledge on the natural climate cycles from rainy season to dry season, and the impact it has on the forest and the animals. By the end, you’ll have a basic, first-hand understanding on how fragile this amazing micro ecological system can be. During the trek we will climb a tower overlooking a natural salt-lick and in silence, like hunters, we will attempt to observeshy animals and birds in need of minerals. Duration of the trek is estimated from 3 to 3 and-a-half hours.

Next, a transfer to the restaurant, where you will have lunch plus enjoy a little extra time for rest and relaxation, or you may choose to visit the Khao Yai visitor center near the restaurant. Then we’ll make our way to Haew Suwat waterfall, one of the highlights of the movie The Beach with Leonardo Di Caprio. Here you will have time to relax and take a needed break.

A bit later, we’ll transfer to Haew Narok waterfalls, the biggest waterfall in Khao Yai National Park. Haew Narok is located near Prachinburi province, where wild jungle elephants are often spotted.

IMPORTANT: Please note, that in case of unusual weather conditions, very heavy rains and\or river flooding, The Thai authorities may close access to Haew Narok waterfalls for your safety. The company can’t be held responsible for this change to the itinerary. Around 17:30, we’ll make a leisurely voyage to Saisorn Reservoir, for a coffee break, snacks and light meal. You might want to share your experiences, impressions and photos with your fellow travelers while observing a wonderful sunset over Khao Yai National Park.

At 18:30 we start the night safari, to revisit the same area to see an entirely different world, with different lighting, emergence of nocturnal life, different animals, different sounds, different temperature, etc. The night safari typically lasts 45-60 minutes, and then we’ll return to the resort, for dinner and a good night’s rest.

Around 08:30, you’ll check out from the resort and we’ll travel to Wat Khao Hin Tad. Nearby area number of ancient sandstone mines, where stones were extracted and transported centuries ago to build many of the beautiful and historical temples that are today an important part of Khmer heritage. You will visit a Thai Buddhist temple that holds an enormous Buddha statue, of exquisite detail. Afterwards, we’ll venture on to Phimai National Museum where ancient Khmer and Devarati Artifacts are conserved. At 12:00, we’ll have lunch in a restaurant in Phimai town. In the afternoon, we will go to the Phimai Historical Park, to visit one of the most important Khmer temples on Thai soil. We will later venture to the SaiNgam banyan tree, to honor, meditate on, or simply photograph largest and oldest banyan tree in Asia (350 years old!).

Then onwards to check-in at Phimai Paradise hotel. Evening go out to test local food in Phimai town and overnight.

Breakfast, then an 08:30 transfer from hotel to Phnom Rung Historical Park. In this lovely park, you’ll see a Khmer temple complex set on the rim of an extinct volcano, around 1,300 feet above sea level. At noon, we’ll have lunch in a local Thai restaurant and then continue our journey to Muang Tum Historical Park. In the park, we’ll visit one of the 102 hospitals created and built by His Majesty King Jayavarman VII (reigned 1181–1219 AD.). You will discover architecture and engineering technique of the late 10th and early 11th century classified today as the Kheang and Baphuon styles.

By 14:30, we’ll leave the Khmer temple and head back to Buriram to check in the hotel Amari burirum united.

After breakfast, at the appropriate time, you will be transferred to the airport, bus or train station in Buriram, as per your requirements.
